Amazon Synopsis (because I got lazy today, and didn’t want to write my own LOL)
Elli Fisher has never thought she was good enough. Let it be her job, her weight, her love life; nothing. She has walked through life for the past six years in a daze, never thinking that life could be good again after the abuse she endured from her ex-boyfriend. She is lonely, sad, and depressed, that is until she meets Shea Adler. After doing a promotional shoot for the NHL team, the Nashville Assassins, she meets the hunky hockey player who shoots a puck, shattering her world.

Shea Adler is tired of the life he was living outside of the rink. The girls, the money blowing, the drinking, everything had to stop and it all did when he met Eleanor Fisher. He had never met anyone like her. She is feisty, witty, shy, and simply gorgeous. When he laid eyes on her, it was as if he was taking the hardest hit of his life into the boards, and he had to have her. Elli is a little skeptical of Shea, but he knows that they are meant to be together, and he needs her in his life.

But Elli just doesn't understand what Shea could see in her. She is overweight, loud, and not even that pretty, so why would someone so gorgeous and so amazing want to be with her? It seems that no matter how hard she tries to shake Shea off, he isn't going anywhere, and for the first time, Elli doesn't feel alone.
But can Elli throw her insecurities out the window and love Shea with everything inside of her? Or will she let a past relationship, and her family ruin any chance of her being happy?

Would Elli miss her shot at love?

My thoughts
So I decided too read this book after I saw a review from the blog In Between   and it sounded like a book I would love, and it was.I really loved “taking Shots” as stated in the synopsis Elli is an insecure photographer who doesn't think she deserves love from the Sexy Shea Alder, the professional hockey player.

Elli, what a character, sometimes I loved her and then sometimes I just wanted to yell at her to get herself together. But you couldn’t be mad at Elli for all her insecurities because her family put her through the ringer. Her mother is the mother from hell, her sister is like the evil step-sister from Cinderella, her brothers are basically incapable of taking up for her, and the only family she can trust is her father and Uncle. They love her unconditionally, and are always there for her. Then you have the Ex-boyfriend that she was with for years, that basically just killed her emotional. I mean I hated these characters, who does that to a person?

Then we have Shea who has it all, the amazingly career, and the perfect family, bimbos hanging off him left and right. But all that soon changes when he meets Elli, now he wants the ultimate dream: Love and he wants that with Elli. You will fall in love with Shea, he is the perfect boyfriend. Everything he does is with Elli in mind and he thinks she is perfect just the way she is.

We have their best friends Jakob (loved the way that’s spelled) and harper, who are crazy in their own way, but perfect friends to both Elli and Shea.

Also I love the length, it was close to 500 pages but I was never bored, I actually enjoy longer novels.

(Before I continue to rant I will wrap it up :D)
Overall, I loved this book! The characters were entertaining, the villains make you hate them, and the plot was well thought out and executed perfectly.

I can’t wait to read move from this author!
